It was 18-24 foot in size, 1½ story high, made of hewn logs one foot square, and stood on blocks about 2 feet high, sawed from large trees. It was about the first building in the county to have glass windows. It was built at Mackinaw, the first county seat, in 1827, by Amasa Stought, for $125." |
