Pekin, Lincoln & Decatur Railroad Company
Stock Certificate
circa 1871

The document above is a blank stock certificate for the Pekin, Lincoln & Decatur Railroad Company.  It was recently found on Ebay, purchased, and contributed to the society.

The line between Pekin and Decatur opened in November, 1871.  It was then leased by the Toledo, Wabash & Western for a time.  After consolidation with the Decatur, Sullivan & Mattoon Company, it became the Peoria, Decatur & Evansville, and, in 1900, became part of the Illinois Central Railroad.
