| Since 1902, Pekin's Mineral Springs Park has been one of the treasures of Tazewell County - enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. The park pavilion and lagoon serve as the centerpiece of the park. The above ice skating scene was taken in 1912. The greenhouse wing on the left was called the Palm House and no longer survives. |

| This modern day view shows the lagoon and pavilion decorated for the Christmas holidays. For the last 12 years, the park has served as the focus of the Pekin Winter Wonderland celebration which runs from the end of November through a few days before Christmas. The lagoon and park roads are lined with lighted Christmas trees sponsored by businesses and citizens. Events include fireworks, a parade, Christmas concerts, craft shows, carriage rides - even a snowbird golf tournament. |
