Please indicate whether you are want a Surname Tree Leaf, a Business Plaque tile, or are making a general donation to the foundation.
Tazewell County Surname Tree
The Tazewell County Surname Tree is the outline of a willow tree. A popular subject of early American stencils, the willow tree symbolizes long life, resilience, and immortality.
The surname tree has been carved into an oak panel and is the focal point of the entranceway to the society's library. Anyone who has ever lived in Tazewell County or has an ancestor who has ever lived in the county is eligible to place a leaf on the tree.
Honor your ancestor's surname by generously sponsoring a leaf on the surname tree. Your surname, painstakingly engraved on a metal leaf will forever enshrine your family's name, where it can be admired and noticed by all who enter our library. A surname leaf would be a wonderful lasting memorial for a spouse, parent, or other family member. Leaves are available in the following colors and denominations:

Donations of less than $100 may be accumulated and applied toward a leaf of your choosing.
Besides honoring your family, your charitable purchase of a leaf will help to add to the historic record of Tazewell County and will support the continuing work of the Society.
Tazewell County Business Plaque
Local businesses have enriched the heritage of Tazewell County since its beginning. The Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society Foundation wishes to provide an opportunity to the business community to show continued support of the county's historical heritage by offering tiles on the Tazewell County Business Plaque.
